For my third photo assignment I choose to do ARCHITECTURE. I think I captured the angles well. I think I should have taken all the pictures like this because for some of them they were taken after the sun rose which made the picture tell a different story. So I think I need to work on lighting, but I like the gray sky and how these pictures turned out. I think these are good examples of architecture because it shows the structure of the lighthouse. I shows the lighthouse from all different angles and shows the composition of lines and how they draw your eye all throughout the picture.

For my second photo shooting assignment I choose to do LANDSCAPE. I am hoping to get better at capturing the sunrise with having the rest not be so dark. In these I like that they are dark, but I think it could give another story if it was light. I think these are good examples of landscape because you can see a broad picture of nature but it seems like it keeps going. When you look at the picture you don't think the sun ends. You don't think the lake just stops it travels further and I think I captured the story in a good way.
In this assignment we had to take a picture of ourselves, make it square then follow the steps to make it into a black and white hue. I then duplicated it and made 4 of them. I changed the color hues to red, green, blue and yellow. I learned that you have to start off with the second picture being black and white because I started with red and it made it so all of the filters look messed up. I had to make it so the filter didn't have a red undertone so I restarted and made it look correctly.
In this assignment I took pictures of a person. I had to make it so nothing was in the background that was distracting. I also made sure that she was standing off the wall to make possible photoshop options in the future easier. I took 72 pictures and turned them in on Monday. I learned that the background had to be clean and simple. For a couple of the pictures other things were in the background and that is why I didn't pick those pictures, they were distracting and didn't look as neat and clean .
For my first photo shooting assignment I am going to pick Landscape because I am going up north and they have very beautiful sunsets that I want to capture for this assignment. I like these pictures because the lighthouse is the subject, but the sky behind it is beautiful. The sky makes your eye move across the picture while still having the focus of the lighthouse.
I was trying to accomplish getting a faster shutter speed and it didn't really work. The images just got darker and it's because as the speed goes up there is less time for light to be let in making it darker. The assignment should have shown how the front items were in focus and the back items weren't and as the numbers got higher it should have focused more in the background, but that also didn't happen. Questions: A fast shutter speed makes it so it looks like the image is frozen in motion. A slow shutter speed creates a sense of motion and can create a motion blur. A larger aperture lets more light into the picture. A smaller aperture lets less light pass through and can create a larger depth of field.
In this assignment we had to take notes on composition one and two. Then to understand what we had to take pictures of each composition and label them.
Reflection: I liked the idea of this assignment, but I don't like my completed result. I don't like that I took pictures of the school because I feel like it's boring. I think that I am going to start taking the camera home and take cool pictures not of the school. I also think we should have gone over photoshop to better edit the pictures before we turned them in because I didn't edit my pictures at all. I like how we took notes than showed what we learned, I think that is a good way of learning. Overall I think the assigment itself is a good one, but maybe push it back a week and learn about photoshop. I also think I would enjoyed it more and it would look more like the idea in my head if I took the camera home and it wasn't pictures of stairs and lockers.
Hi, and welcome to my blog. I took this class because it was the only class that was open that didn't sound completely terrible. I play Field Hockey and Lacrosse. I like to hangout with my friends in my free time. I also love fall because it's Michigan Football season and I love Michigan sports.
